Individualized Error

Individualized Error

The last learning outcome is the Individualized Error outcome. This outcome entails that students have the ability to control sentence-level grammar, punctuation, and spelling. This outcome I feel I was already solidly proficient with, but obviously I could always be better, and in college, sentence structure is a different animal. My main issue was the coordination of sentences. At times, I would make my compound sentences just a long run-on sentence. I got better over the semester with this, and I show the ability to make compound sentences and not run-ons. Proofreading was my main issue coming into this class. Basically, I lacked proofreading, except fixing the grammar. I learned through this course how to proofread a paper and change ideas around to sound more smooth. The main thing with proofreading was I changed around sentence structure and avoided starting sentences with the same words which create repetition. I am proficient at integrating quotes and I show that through my significant writing project. Overall, my ability to go back and analyze my own work has become ten times better over the course of the semester.
